Dave Douglas Meets The Westerlies

The Festival of New Trumpet Music presents new music by Dave Douglas for a new collaboration with The Westerlies, a brass quartet comprised of four childhood friends from Seattle, Washington — Riley Mulherkar and Zubin Hensler on trumpet, and Andy Clausen and Willem de Koch on trombone, with Rudy Royston joining on drums. Composer Douglas explores Great American Themes in this rich panoply of warm brass sounds.
You might remember that Riley of The Westerlies was the first Laurie Frink Career Grant Recipient in 2014. He’s been an integral part of FONT Music and the music scene in NYC:
