This project, Tapestries for Small Orchestra, is a good example of the primacy of FONT when the subject is supporting the growth and evolution of the music. We could never have pursued the foundation commissioning support from the LEF Foundation, and then balanced the budget through knitting a collaborative relationship with Firehouse 12 Records, without first having a very real partnership with FONT, an artist-run artist-centered 501-c3 that very definitely GETS IT! Without the powerful profile of FONT standing by our side, firmly holding our hand, there never would have been the Bill Dixon Recording Residency at Firehouse 12 and the resulting essential document critiqued above. Thanks FONT.
